Modern College of Pharmacy, Village Khurd, Tehsil Malerkolta, Distt. Sangrur (Punjab) is a gateway offering access and opportunity to students and backgrounds to pursue learning and enrichment; the MIE enables and empowers all students to fulfill their aspirations to the maximum of their capabilities. Working quietly behind the scenes is the Strategic Planning and Policy Management which includes representatives of staff, students and parents. Strategic Planning at MIE is all about improvement processes and all members of the MIE community are invited to help and put the Strategic Plan into action. Through the Strategic Plan five inter-related priority areas have been identified as the means of achieving the Vision of the MIE.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The educational system in India is passing through very pitiable conditions. It is high time to reform and improve the system. It is, therefore, desired that the training aspect of the educational system be improved i.e. the system should produce good teachers. Keeping in view the same, the college has the following aims and objectives :

  • To improve the pedagogical of the existing system of training.
  • To produce ideal teachers.
  • To acquaint the teachers with modern methodologies of teaching.
  • To acquire the knowledge of technology.
  • To acquaint the trainees with models of teaching.
  • To fill the sense of nationality in the trainees.
  • To help to acquire commitment to the teaching profession.
  • To produce teachers to create awareness among students about health education, population education and environmental education.
  • To create among trainees the feelings to develop social, aesthetic and moral values etc.

D-Pharmacy - 2 years

The Diploma in Pharmacy is a 2-year undergraduate programme that introduces students to the fundamentals of pharmaceutical science, including the preparation, dispensing, and proper use of medicines. This course provides the minimum qualification required to become a Registered Pharmacist in India.

The programme is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948, and covers essential subjects related to drug formulation, pharmacology, and healthcare practices. (Note: D.Pharm is different from Pharm.D, which is a postgraduate-level programme.)

Compulsory Subjects

  • Must have passed 10+2 with Science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics

D.Pharmacy (Allopathy) - 2 Years

The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharmacy) is a two-year diploma programme designed to provide students with a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare. The course focuses on the preparation, dispensing, and proper use of medicines, along with essential knowledge of pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and hospital pharmacy. After successful completion, students become eligible to register as Pharmacists under the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and can pursue careers in hospitals, retail pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, or continue higher studies in pharmacy.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized Board.
  • Must have studied Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
  • Must have studied either Biology (Medical) or Mathematics (Non-Medical) as one of the qualifying subjects.
  • Students from both Medical (PCB) and Non-Medical (PCM) streams are eligible.
  • Admission is subject to the eligibility norms prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the affiliating university.
